PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Temple of Zeus at Olympia, Greece, boasts two pediments one on the east and one on the west end of the roof that are celebrated as exemplary early Classical Greek sculpture. Crafted around 460 BCE, these pediments feature a total of 42 figures depicting wrestling and racing within mythological narratives. The west pediment, measuring 24.8 meters in length and crafted from marble, illustrates the conflict between the Lapiths and Centaurs during the wedding of Peirithoos and Deidameia.

In this scene, drunken Centaurs disrupt the wedding feast, only to be repelled with the assistance of King Theseus. At the center stands the god Apollo, maintaining control. While the original resides in the Olympia Archaeological Museum, reproductions are available for public viewing.Conversely, the east pediment narrates the tale of Pelops just before his chariot race, where he vanquishes King Oenomaus to win the hand of his daughter Hippodamia.

All our designs are high quality printing, environmentally friendly materials. Perfect finishes, very careful.
