Statue of Pan made of Parian marble and found in Sparta, Peloponnese. The goat-footed god wears an animal pelt, from which protude only his hairy legs and his left hand, holding the panpipe. The expression on the face, with its bestial features, is softened by his broad smile.Copy made in the 1st c. CE of an original of the 4th c. BCE.
