This captivating sculpture portrays the legendary Greek hero Odysseus evading the Giant Polyphemus by seeking refuge beneath a ram’s belly. In Homer’s epic poem ‘The Odyssey’, Odysseus ingeniously intoxicates the cyclops Polyphemus with wine. Subsequently, Odysseus and his men blind the cyclops and flee from his cave by clinging to the underbellies of the giant’s sheep as they are let out to graze.
