This is the restoration of the statue of the God Hermes with the infant Dionysus, a Greek marble sculpture located in the Archaeological Museum of Olympia. The statue stands at a height of 2.13 meters and was crafted by the sculptor Praxiteles during the late classical period.
According to some authors, it might be a 1st-century copy of an original by the same artist dating from 350-330 BC. Both the arms of Hermes and Dionysus have been restored. In this version, wings have been added to Hermes, though there is another variant in the store where Hermes does not have them.
The sculpture is remarkably perfect. The original version is astonishing, as when you view Hermes’s face from the left angle, where the infant Dionysus is, Hermes is smiling. However, when you look at the face from the right angle, half of Hermes’s face appears serious.
All our designs are high quality printing, environmentally friendly materials. Perfect finishes, very careful.
