Dioscuri Castor and Pollux with their horses (set)

Castor and Pollux are twin half-brothers in Greco-Roman mythology and are known together as the Dioscuri. Castor was the mortal son of the king of Sparta Tyndareus and Queen Leda, and Pollux was the divine son of Zeus and Leda’s forbidden union. They are sometimes described as being born from an egg along with their twin sisters Helen of Troy and Clytemnestra. Upon the request of Pollux to Zeus to share his immortality with his brother Castor, Zeus transformed the brothers into the constellation of Gemini. They were regarded as the patrons of sailors and horsemanship. The majestic statues of the Dioscuri we present are exact replicas of those found on the Quirinal, one of Rome’s most iconic hills. Both majestic steeds are included with each divine twin, creating a truly breathtaking display and piece of history from antiquity. Castor and Pollux 33 cm tall, horses 37.5 cm tall.
