Corinthian columns, renowned as the most intricate of the three Greek orders, are distinguished by their decorative bell-shaped capital adorned with volutes and a concave-sided abacus, two rows of stylized acanthus leaves, an elaborate cornice, vertical fluting, and a slender shaft. Additionally recognized as “Temple of the Winds” columns, they may have drawn inspiration for their capital design from Callimachus, a sculptor who reportedly observed leaves and stalks emerging through a basket on a tomb near an acanthus tree.
