The Apollo of Cyrene is a Roman statue of Apollo discovered in the ancient city of Cyrene, Libya. The statue is a marble copy of a Hellenistic original from around 200-150 BC.E. It depicts Apollo holding a lyre and a quiver and is naked except for a cloak around his hips. The right arm of the statue and the left wrist and hand have been restored based on ancient sources, as they were missing in the original statue. The statue was unearthed along with other ancient sculptures and inscriptions and was presented to the British Museum in 1861. Apollo is the Greek god of music, light, plague, prophecy, and healing.
